Amazing stories about our amazing people.
This month, Mark Barlow our Plant Manufacturing Lead in Warrington is In the Spotlight.
The best thing about working here is the way the staff all pull together to deliver what’s required. There’s always been a great team ethic within the plant and this was particular prevalent when we moved from Loushers Lane to Risley
My days vary greatly; they all start around 7am when I walk the site speaking to the teams, then I interrogate the previous 24 hour plant performances for discussion at the operations meeting. We have several daily/weekly project, trial planning, sales and operational planning meetings, and I also conduct the site tours for new staff, customers and suppliers, which are increasing considerably.
My previous role was an 8-year stint as Warehouse Manager for Aimia Foods, a hot drinks supplier to retail and vending. Prior to that I was employed for 21 Years with United Glass covering several roles in Manufacturing, ending up as Quality Manager until the plant closed in 1998.
It’s difficult to choose a favourite drink from all our great products, but if forced I would split between Dubliner and Dakin. I love cooking and entertaining at home. I’m also a DIY nut and very often will be found working around the home or garden. My guilty pleasure is cheese and biscuits and a nice glass of red. Football is my favourite sport and I am an avid Liverpool fan. An interesting fact about me is that I’m a qualified Indian Head Masseur and I also achieved a level 6 Ice skating qualification.
